Weffan’s project Loom-State: 3D Woven Garments, disrupts the inefficient, unsustainable garment production system by creating whole, 3D woven garments engineered on an automated loom.
The creation of a whole, 3D woven garments dramatically shortens the supply chain, uses fewer resources and materials lowering waste, and can lead to a more agile, transparent supply chain. The lowered capital investment of this pro-duction system means production can afford to nearshore, lowering a product’s carbon footprint and the harsh economic impact of supply chain interruption on labour and business profitability.
Whole garment weaving reduces risk and reduces waste.
